​Sr. Manager, User Experience Design  (July 2022 - Present)
  • Design digital experiences that reduces friction, drive revenue and significantly enhance the cruise vacation for 5+million guests and 36,000 team members.
  • Lead UX design for experiences across the Guest Technology product suite, from the pre-cruise web experience to the onboard app, kiosks, tablets, large screens, and other digital guest facing experiences onboard.
  • Work strategically with Executive, Engineering and Product Manager cross-functional partners to define and drive UX team objectives, gathering feedback from guests as well as team members shore side and shipboard helping to create innovative experiences for our business, products, crew, and guests.
  • Present to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Lead UX research efforts. Leveraging qualitative and quantitative research to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Lead UX design recruiting efforts.
  • Manage and work closely with a team of 5 UX designers and define clear roles and responsibilities for them.
  • Promote UX team development by establishing objectives, providing feedback and supporting them to grow as professionals.
  • Champion design-thinking and human centered design.


UX Design Manager  (December 2017 - June 2022)
  • Enhanced the Digital Screen Lamel experience via surfacing a navigation and adding the ability to purchase.
  • Designed the experience for Kids & Teens, Pizza Delivery, Your Time Dining Check-In, Specialty Dining reservation, and Pre-cruise features. Some of these recently launched on the newest Carnival Horizon ship and quickly expanding to other ships.
  • Continuously prepare and conduct user research with guests on-board Carnival ships to test new features at different stages of the product development process, including: high fidelity prototypes, builds before release, beta versions, etc to iterate and get to a stable product before launch. Research includes observing and talking to on-board staff for insights and observing impact on operations and software enhancements needed.
  • Work with teams across the organization to improve the user experience for guests looking to book their next vacation to preparing for their booked cruise and finally enjoying their cruise via using our portfolio of digital products.
  • Manage multiple projects with various vendors and partners to ensure goals are met while keeping focus on user experience and quality.
  • Supervise design work from in-house and outsourced teams and work closely with outsourced engineers for a unified experience and brand consistency.

UX Design Contractor  (July 2016 - November 2017)
  • Designed the Shore Excursions feature in the Carnival Hub app  which resulted in increased excursions sales within the first weeks of launch.
  • Enhanced the social component of the Hub app to include ability to search and add on-board guests as friends and chat with them.
  • Enhanced the purchase flow experience for Pixels Photo in the Carnival Hub app to better surface upsell opportunities.
  • Delivered complete experiences as wireframes for team discussions and as final designs for iOS and Android. Collaborated with developers and delivered complete assets via zeplin and sketch for iOS and Android.


Univision Interactive Media | 2000 - 2016

Sr. Art Director of Product (2010 - 2016)
  • Led a high-performance team of 5 UX designers in the creation of award winning user-centered design solutions for various Univision digital products including: new site features, redesigns, app features, marketing and sales proposals.
  • Mentored junior UX designers in their career path and helped them transition from graphic design to UX design resulting in a talented strong UX design team.
  • Participated in extensive user testing and eye tracking sessions working alongside research vendors to gain insights for improving the various digital products. This effort included targeting different demographics of hispanics living in the west, east and southeast areas of America based on Univision's viewing audience and Univision.com's users.
  • Led the redesign of Univision’s responsive sites in the migration to a new CMS platform that allowed the publishing team to perform automated tasks faster with no dependency on additional teams, resulting in time and money savings.
  • Designed the high-trafficked Univision 2014 World Cup site that exceeded sales goals and earned various team awards.
  • Provided creative direction for the launch of UVideos video site and apps that engaged users in consuming long form videos from Univision’s shows and novelas.
  • Delivered creative solutions for new app features such as iOS 3D touch menu and chromecast/airplay support in the support of innovative and robust experiences.
  • Continuously worked with vendors and in-house product managers in the creation of new features and products.

Art Director of Local Products (2005 - 2009)
  • Redesigned Univision’s 72 Radio and TV sites that resulted in higher Ad inventory, introduction of new local services, and robust radio streaming experiences.
  • Created solutions for local clients, vendors and partners that enhanced our B2B relationships increasing revenue and user engagement.
  • Hired, managed and mentored a small team of designers and interns.

Web Designer (2000 - 2004)
  • Supported the News Publishing team as Lead Designer on the daily news coverage.
  • Supervised 2 designers and worked with them to provide full coverage to the news team.
